School life
All of us village friends went to the same school. Though there was a bus, we preferred walking. The fun we had walking can't be compared to taking the bus π. My friends Tharushika and Chathuranga and I lived at the far end of the village. Since we were the farthest, we had to be ready and reach the road by 6:30 am. That was the rule π. But someone was always late! π
As we walked, more friends joined us, making our group six in total. We chatted, joked, and played games all the way to school. Back then, we took things easy. Sometimes we'd be late, and even if we got punished, it was fun π.
We loved extracurricular activities more than studies – gardening, planting veggies, sports days, New Year celebrations, and cultural shows π. We worked with our teachers happily, though we did get mischievous sometimes π. In class, when teachers weren't around, we'd sing loudly, play with chalk, or burst water balloons π. Like that egg-throwing incident on Senuri's birthday πππ.
This is just a tiny part of it. We found joy in the smallest things back then. We had no sense of responsibility, but now we have a lot on our plates π₯Ί. Life's complicated and exhausting; we barely have peace of mind π. If I could turn back time, I'd go back to those school days π₯Ί.
